I made the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe that was on the back of the Tollhouse Chocolate Chip bag. With the exception of the aforementioned Campbell's Soups, recipes on the backs of products are generally reliable. They have to sell the item again, right? Anyway, I halved this recipe, as I do sometimes, and I again concentrated too hard on the fractions and made a mistake. While I was carefully measuring the ingredients, I was dropping everything in the same bowl, when you're really supposed to mix together the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients seperately before combining. And so, the mixing was challenging (also because we don't have one of those $300 Kitchen Aid electric mixers that come in all differet colors and are good for cookies) so I just gave the bowl to Nick who completed the task. Ultimately, I think they turned out pretty tasty. They were also thicker than the regular (non-oatmeal) chocolate chip cookies that are also on the Tollhouse package, and I like a thick cookie. Success!
